Life and Writing Updates
The trilogy draws to a close...
Hello friends,
Life has been pretty busy so far this year, and back in March, I swapped bustling Berlin for lovely North Yorkshire. While my new hometown is much smaller, I’ve already found a wonderful creative and bookish community here, and I get to spend every day with my partner in literary crime, Nick Burgoyne
But I promise I also have book news. Between packing boxes, family visits, friends’ weddings, and admiring blooms and blossoms (spring really is a lovely time for new beginnings), I’ve also been hard at work on developmental edits for Book 3 of my Last Lux Trilogy. With everything going on, I’ve been a little quiet on social media to focus on getting the last instalment of my trilogy out by the end of the summer, and so far, things are (almost) on track. As of last week I finally finished my second draft, and it is now back with Nick for line edits (and finding 10k words to cut out, because I’m far past my word count limit). I want to say a big thanks once again to Nick and Karlein Kwong for all their fantastic help as my superstar critique partners.
More exciting things on the horizon…
Cover reveal coming soon!
The wonderfully talented Joan Culum has been hard at work on my book cover, and I’m so excited to post the cover reveal very soon. Keep an eye out on Substack and Instagram for the official cover reveal next month, but for now, here is an exclusive first sneak peek of what to expect…

Authors in the Abbey - Selby
If you’re in or near Selby, North Yorkshire, then I’ll be sharing a table with Nick Burgoyne at Authors in the Abbey on Saturday 15th August. This multi-genre book fair will feature sci-fi and fantasy, YA and children’s books, crime and mystery, poetry, romance, and more. I’m also joining the discussion panel to give a talk and answer questions about my journey as an author. Whether you’re a writer looking for advice, or an avid reader keen to meet local authors and get some signed books and merch, we’d love to see you there!
Standard entry is free, while VIP tickets at £7.50 get you access to all talks and a swag bag. More info and tickets are available on Eventbrite
Reader acknowledgements
Before I wrap up, I just want to say a huge thanks to everyone who has read, reviewed, and shouted about my books. As an indie author, it makes my day every time someone picks up my books or takes a moment to leave a rating or review. When the internet is dictated by algorithms, it’s you, the readers, who truly help my books to find their people, so I appreciate each and every one of you <3 You can leave reviews and ratings on Amazon, Goodreads and The Storygraph
And if you haven’t yet read them, Books 1 and 2 of The Last Lux Trilogy are available on Kindle, KU and paperback, with Book 3 due later this summer. You can find them here.
Thank you for reading and supporting indie authors <3
