My second book, The Dark Heart of the Raven, has officially flown the nest and landed on your Kindles today, and the physical copies will be in our hands very soon. I’m so excited to be sharing my latest work with you all, after an intense year of creating, editing and polishing. Joining my characters on their journey has been one of the highlights of my year, and I’m honoured I get to tell their story, see their growth, and ride the highs and lows with them. I got to laugh and cry with them, fight epic battles at their side, watch them fall in love and fall apart, and cheer them on as they put themselves back together and rose up to meet their next challenges with their heads held high. This book is my proudest achievement, and I hope you love reading it as much as I have loved writing it.
They say writing is a lonely endeavour, but I have never felt more connected to my friends, loved ones, and fellow writers since publishing my first book last year. It took a lot of courage and vulnerability to share my writing and tell the world that I’m publishing a fantasy book, but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done and I’m so grateful to everyone who cheered me on, supported me, and let me know what they thought of my writing.
While I celebrate this achievement today, I want to say a special thanks and shout out to the people who I couldn’t have done without: my critique partners and fellow authors, Nick Burgoyne and Karlein Kwong, my beta readers, Tom Harris, Holly Möller, Réka Szentirmay, and Sarah Work, my incredibly talented cover artist and friend, Joan Culum, and of course, my amazing family and friends who have cheered me on and demanded to know when the next book will be out.
